Promise To Children- FAQs

How is UNICEF helping children in India right now?
UNICEF works across India to protect the rights of every child and improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education, clean water, sanitation, child safety and emergency relief. With support from donors like you, our teams are present on the ground including in remote and underserved areas helping with critical support to the most vulnerable children and their families.

Why does UNICEF need my help?
UNICEF's work in India is made possible entirely through voluntary contributions. Your monthly support helps us stay on the ground providing life-saving support and work on long term solutions for children’s survival, safety and well-being.

How will my donation be used?
Your contribution will support UNICEF’s ongoing programmes across India that focus on improving access to essential services like health, education, clean water, sanitation and crucial support during emergencies. Every donation helps us reach more children who need support.

Why is monthly support important?
Children need sustained care and a stable environment to grow and thrive. Your monthly donations allow UNICEF to plan better, respond faster, and reach more children over time, especially in hard-to-reach or underserved areas.

Does my donation support children in India?
Yes. The donations raised in India are used to support UNICEF’s programmes within the country. Your monthly support helps us reach children and families in need, including the ones from the most marginalised communities with initiatives so that they grow up healthy, safe and with access to a brighter future.

Is UNICEF a part of the Government?
No. UNICEF is a United Nations agency. In India, we collaborate with central government, state governments and various local partners to improve services and access to care at the grass root level for children. All of this is made possible through support from donors like you.

Will I receive updates on how my donation is used?
Yes. As a monthly donor, you will receive regular updates, impact stories and reports that show how your contribution is helping children.

Can I change or cancel my monthly donation later?
Yes. You can modify or cancel your donation at any time. Our donor support team will be happy to assist you.

What is the UNICEF Promise Ring?
The Promise Ring is a small token of appreciation for your monthly commitment to children with UNICEF. It represents the promise you’ve made to help build a better future for every child. After your donation is confirmed, the ring will be sent to you within 60 working days.
